L is for the longest 40 days. EVER
E is for the "Everest Effect" you feel after accomplishing it
N is for "No I can't have that, I gave it up for Lent." and "No, I'm not catholic...."
T is for all the times that I have already complained about it
So it's that time again! Lent started last week and because I am not technically catholic I just jumped on the ban wagon. My adorable sister-in-law is Catholic and gives up something every year. In my family a lot of us like to join in and take the time to kick some bad habits we have for at least 40 days of the year. Last year I gave up soda for the entire years, so my lent contribution was covered there. It is always fun to do something and see how it affects you. This year I had tons of ideas. I'm going to just take this time to mention the top bad habits I have here...
Watching Friends for like 4 hours everyday
       Eating out
       Eating peanut butter
And so many other things I would never put on a blog
After some careful consideration and realizing that I would probably die without Friends, Peanut Butter, Facebook, and texting, I chose eating out. So for the next I believe 33 days I will not be eating out. How is this going you  might ask? Well yesterday Lauren and I had a day full of eating out. Lauren decided that she wanted to jump on the ban wagon with me too. We had Ihop (it was national pancake day), Olive Garden, and Ice Berg. If you are thinking in your head right now that we sound like we are fatties, then you would be right. But we are now changing our ways. Of course the amount of complaining is beyond controllable. Here are just a few things that have been said....
  • Only 33 more days..... (Today is our first day and it has probably been said about 100 times)
  • We are probably going to die from this! And then we are going to regret being Catholic because we GAVE UP HAPPINESS!
  • Man giving up something for another religion is really hard....
  • How many days left?
  • We should go to...Oh wait....
And many many more comments have been made. I am actually quite excited to reach this goal, and I think there are tons of perks to it. But you should all probably know that the day after Easter Lauren and I will be having a celebratory day full of fast foods and Red Robin's french fries. These are the things we look forward to in life. Oh the life of a fatty! I hope that this Lent season is finding you well!
Until Next Time,
But only for the next 33 days...

All That Love & Stuff

Valentine's Day was great! Here is a little about all the loves in my life :)
Taylor Lautner & I are continuing our relationship. It's going well....
My family is super awesome! They sent me a teddy bear, chocolate covered strawberries, and BEAUTIFUL roses!!! I love them!

So for  Valentine's Day I decided that I wanted to make Daniel something really special. After racking my brain for forever I finally decided to make him a Living Christ poster thing. First I bought all the supplies. Red car stock, the Living Christ, and 15 pictures of Christ. I glued mulitple pieces of card stock together and then glued the Living Christ to it. This gave me pleanty of space.
Next I glued the corner pictures to the piece of paper and around the Living Christ.
I continued to add pictures all the way around...
When I finished it looked like this. Not everything was even, so I just made cuts to even everything up. And then I got it lamenated. I was going to put it in a frame, but I decided that this would be more efficient for a missionary.
 This was the finished product!
I added the picture to the rest of the box and then added some paper hearts and a letter!
Happy Valentitne's/ 8 months out in the field, Elder Wood! <3
Sean gave me this for Valentine's Day! I have been dieting so I was given a lettuce heart with carrots and chocolate sauce on top! So cute!
And they made me take a bite...
We had Papa Murrphy's pizza, A&W, and Coco Bean Cupcakes! We stuffed our faces!!
I'm a lucky girl to have so much love in my life! I had a fantastic Valentine's Day! I was surronded by all my best friends and I couldn't have imagined a better way to spend the day!
Hope all is well with y'all!
Until Next Time,

Emotions & Love

Emotions: A strong feeling of any kind, the moving or upsetting of the mind or feelings
Love: An intense feeling of deep affection;  affection - fondness - darling - passion
Emotions are confusing and range from a wide variety of feelings. I find that the closer you come to intense emotions the easier it is to feel the exact opposite. It’s loving and hating someone at the same time and being so happy that you want to cry that makes emotions irreplaceable. As humans we give into our emotions. We let the mind take over all aspects of life, but introduce the smallest amount of pulling at your heart strings and you might as well be talking to a child. Emotions make people act foolish. They keep people out. And they drive the world to be what it is today.
I wish emotions were easier to control. I wish that when a decision was made and a truth came to be that it was a piece of cake to walk away or change. Knowing something is bad for you, but yet still indulging in the act is foolish. As humans we tend to have the “pleasure now, pain later” attitude. We think that whatever we want to do in that moment is more than worth it and we forget to think about the later part. The later part is the important part, the pain, the sorrow, the aching, or maybe just the regret. You would think that the later part would be more than enough to stop us from being foolish, but it is rarely a factor in our everyday thought.
Some of us have the “I’ll bare anything” attitude. We tend to think that we can stand anything for a given amount of time. These are the people that stay in relationships that aren’t healthy or good for them. They think that they can make anything work if they try a little harder, or lower their expectations a little more. These people settle. They feel that they are worth what they really want. They feel that this is the best they can do, so might as well make what they have work. Don’t get these people confused with those that are just trying to work on their relationship. There is a difference, but you know what I am finding? The line that creates that difference can start to look pretty transparent.
Where do we draw the line? How much do we let our emotions affect our lives and our choices? How long do we settle? What is worth settling for? And how do we come to find a better attitude towards emotions and their affects?  We don’t want to be a “pleasure now, pain later” person, or an “I’ll bare anything” person. We want to be happy, and not because we have someone that is the best we can do, but because we choose that person, and are still choosing them every day.
The saying goes that “love is patient, love is kind”, but I find that hard to accept. Love is impatient. It gives you your chance and then it moves on. It’s bitter, and plays hard to get. It finds you at the worst times and leaves you wishing you had a warning. It can be captivating and life changing. It can take your breath away in an instant or leave you with a hole that you will never quite recover from.  Nothing in life hurts worse than love, but yet we do it all over again. We give someone our heart and let down our walls hoping that it will all be worth it, and sometimes it is. But the point is that even when it’s not as the foolish humans we are, we just get back up and start looking for it again.
Love isn’t patient or kind. Love is the electricity that runs through your body every time he touches you. Love is coming home smelling like his cologne. Love is laying your head listening to his heartbeat and realizing you have been there for many hours. Love is talking late into the night and still not being able to say goodbye. Love is a mix of the first time you met, held hands, danced together, cried together, and kissed. Love is the foolish act that as humans we allow to take over our bodies. And just like that, it’s like talking to a child.

Sucking @ Blogging....

So I basically have developed a terrible case of sucking at blogging!!! I am so sorry! I got a text from my sister today mentioning that I had almost not blogged in over a month! I apologize! Since the second semester of my sophomore year has started it has been crazy!! I have to do really well in my classes this semester and since I actually enjoy them I have been studying like a good girl. This semester has probably been my favorite since starting college. It seems I am finally learning how to study and how to balance life. I love it! It does have it's ups and downs though. It is still very cold here in Utah! I can't complain too much though because we have had a very mild winter and not much snow! So I am thankful for that! I am doing well here in the Provo. I am currently looking for a job as a nanny. I have a few families I babysit for here and there, but I am hoping to get a more permanent job. I love it. I have been obsessed with babies lately and it's the perfect job to have if you love babies! Maybe it's because my fantastic oldest sister, Heather, is prego with her second baby! I am thrilled! She will be finding out the sex of the baby in about a month and a half and we are all so excited! Now that I am thinking about it I do have quite a bit of big news! So I will do it the same way as always, give you a picture and explain what is going on! Hope you guys enjoy....
I'm transferring to UVU which is about 10 minutes from BYU this summer. I am also switching to a nursing major. I decided that I didn't want to do an extra 4 years of medical school, and that I wanted a better option for being able to stay home with my kids. It was a hard decision, but I feel really good about it! It is a very exciting time for me! :)
I got in a wreck...well kinda... It was a really snowy/icy night and I was turning into an apartment building that went down a hill. I was probably going way too fast (as in like not 5 miles an hour) and when I went to turn I lost control and ran into a wall. It wasn't a HUGE deal but it freaked me out and I cried my eyes out for like a week. It is only the bumper and the finder that is messed up, so I am very thankful for that. But I am still not a happy camper that this all went down....
Lauren and I are still BFFs and we still love Justin Bieber. We also love going to Walmart on a Friday night looking sick nasty.
This is the 5 month twins that I babysit for. I am obsessed with them! They are SO cute!!!
         Heather is having a baby!!!!!
Superbowl party and the TONS of food we had!!!!!!!! It was so good, but I'm still sick from all of it!!! Lori and Brent sure know how to throw a party!!!
Drum roll please........... I'm dying my hair this color!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to try to wait as long as possible to do it, but I am not sure how long I will last! I seriously can't wait! I am obsessed with this color and so excited to see how it turns out!

This Friday will be the GREATEST day of my life!! Lori, Lauren, Kiara, Ashley, Me, and probably Brent are all going to see the Vow. I basically cry every single time I see the trailer and I have been counting down the days till it comes out! I can't wait!!!

And of course my sweetheart <3 and his companion, Elder Rogers. He has been out 8 whole months on the 8th! I can't believe how time is flying. I'm a lucky lucky girl!
Okay I really think that that is all! Life is flying by probably a little quicker than I am ready for, but things are going well! Linsey I hope that this answered all the questions you had about my life, also I want to see your face on skype soon! I hope you are all doing well!
Until Next Time,
