Inside My Head

Today my professor said I can’t wait to read your research papers tonight! And I thought to myself, yeah me neither… because I haven’t even started mine
While we are on the subject of research papers, please don’t ask me to write you one and then put a word limit of 2000 on it. Honestly with 6 paragraphs that is like a total of 333 words per paragraph. Impossible.
I walked into class today and discovered we have a test coming up soon….oops…
I hate when professors welcome me back from the holidays. This isn’t Hogwarts, no one wants to be here, stop acting like we do.
If I could I would go M.I.A., but I think my mom would freak
On Mondays, aka Dan’s p-days, I probably check my email at least 100 times
I haven’t worn makeup or anything besides sweats in over a week
I seriously brought Twilight to class today because that’s how bored I knew I was going to be and then I told the kid next to me to get my attention if anything important was said, nothing was. Don't you worry.
I didn’t charge my phone once last week because no one ever texted or called me. I’m not sure if I’m more impressed or disappointed
There are people reading my blog in China, Spain, Russia, Argentina, and many more places. I welcome you all :)
Remember that research paper I didn't start until 8:30 and finished at 11:40? Yeah... that was a brilliant idea. If I could have bsed that anymore I should have gotten the Nobel Peace Prize for it.

Fact: I don't date boys that have better hair than me or put more time into what they wear than me. My brother Brent (shout out!) says I'm not setting my sights very high. To this I say, I know.

Fact: while everyone at BYU is not "judging" you, I am.

Fact: After writing that research paper I am out of ideas and I need to read Twilight stat. So fare thee well to all!

Until Next Time,
Muah

I Just Couldn't Wait...

So I gave in! My blog is now fully in Christmas mode and I couldn't be happier! Being home for Christmas sounds so good right now! I am ready to be surrounded by my family and back in my own home again! I am ready to wake up to the best smelling food in the world, wake up to my siblings jumping on my bed and playing the harmonica (Trust me it has happened- YOU KNOW who you are), and to wake up to my nephew telling me he loves me. I am pumped! Not so pumped for the thing I have to do before Christmas, but ready for it to be here! Do you guys like my new blog? Its so cute! I have my favorite Christmas songs at the bottom of my page, so make sure to check them out! I was going to have it on automatic play, but LO told me that she wouldn't read my blog anymore if I did that. Lame! I hope you guys are all ready for Thanksgiving! It's going to be a good one! I should probably go ahead and get caught up with my Thanks...
    Day 15: I'm thankful for chocolate. I <3 Chocolate!!
Day 16: I'm thankful for books. They really can take you away like nothing else in the world.
Day 17: I'm thankful for the college life! It is so nice being so free!
Day 18: I'm thankful for random trips! I love that LO and I can just take off!
Day 19: I'm thankful that I get the opportunity to go to Russia next year!
 I miss my family....
Until next time,
Muah!

Memphis/ The Thanks Continue

I wanted this whole "I'm thankful for this today" thing to make me more thankful for all the things I have in life. Instead it has just made me resent doing it, and resent this blog. Let's catch up, shall we? Ready, go!
Day 9: I'm thankful for pony tails. Without them no girl would ever be happy.
Day 10: I'm thankful for air planes! Even if it is going to be a 3 + hour flight!
Day 11: I'm thankful for girl time! I got some great time with Lins this past weekend.
Day 12: I'm thankful for football, life would suck without it.
Day 13: I'm thankful for my straightener. Word.
Day 14: I'm thankful for running and the way I feel when I get done. To quote Brent, "Do you think you will ever work out again?"- <3 you
So this last weekend I headed down to Memphis, Tennessee to see my darling older sister, Linsey, and her cute hubby Jordan. It was SO MUCH FUN! Seriously I am aching to go back. Memphis is such a cute city/town or whatever its classified as. It is BEAUTIFUL in the fall! There are so many trees and they are all changing colors, and its gorgeous. The people are awesome. I miss the southern hospitality and how you are instantly friends with strangers. It was a perfect weekend!
I flew in Friday evening and Lins picked me up from the air port. Jo Jo was at a hotel with the team for the night so I got Lins all to myself! It was a blast! We watched movies, ate way too much food, way too much candy (if its possible), and gossiped about life. Well mainly my life. Her being married means that the gossip is slacking, but that's okay! I loved it! We even had a sleepover in her HUGE comfy bed, and stayed up way too late!
Saturday we slept in and then got ready for the game. We headed to the book store first to get me a t-shirt. I scored with the children's section, which is always cheaper, and got a shirt and sweatpants. Unfortunately the sweatpants are made for small children and basically hug my bum like they are skinny jeans or something. Does this mean that I won't wear them? Heck no! It just means that I now have skinny sweats instead of skinny jeans to wear!! We headed to the stadium. Just outside the stadium the whole team comes up and walks down this field into the stadium. It was cool! The whole band was there and tons of fans! Jo Jo looked super fly in his suit! It was the first time I saw him, so I was pumped! We then had lunch and went back to the stadium to wait for the game. The game was pretty great. We should have won it, but our D kinda disappeared after the second half. Jo Jo played awesome! He is SO good! Like I am going to admit I was kinda surprised how good he is! Watch out NFL draft of 2013!!
After the game we went out to eat, then got shakes, then got candy. It was wonderful!!! We watched movies and hung out until the wee hours of the night. We then all hit the hay exhausted! Sunday we slept in and hung out for a bit. Sadly I had to go back to Utah, so I got taken to the air port. I was extremely sad to say good bye and I'm still kinda depressed. School is just not as fun as hanging out with Jo Jo and my Lassie. Miss you guys! It was a great weekend! I am so glad I went, and I can't wait to see them at Christmas. Well I can't wait to see all my family at Christmas! It's going to be great! Here are some pictures! Enjoy...
I think the large stadium in the background makes me appear skinny. Take every picture in front of large buildings? I think so.

I love her so so much!

No one takes the place of Jo Jo!
 They are precious!
This is what I came home to! I love you Lo!!
Hope this post finds you all doing well!
Until next time,
Muah!

Day 7 & 8

 DAY 7:
Today I am thankful for sweats and hoodies. I love them. Honestly I can't even explain my love for these two things. I'm pretty sure that this doesn't help my dating life, and that my husband will hate it, but I LOVE SWEATS! And sweets, but that is another posts. I wear my Lindenwood football sweats and my BYU hoodie practically everyday. Sometimes when I hang out with friends at night I change just because I know they would call me out on wearing the same outfit...again... Basically moral of the story? I need more sweats for Christmas!
 DAY 8:
Mail. I think that the invention of mail is probably the best invention in the history of inventions. Well besides the cell phone and Internet, but really how could anyone compete with that? Ever since my best friend, Daniel, left on a mission I have become more obsessed with mail. First off I get a letter a week, and basically have come to have a personal relationship with my mailman. Second off who doesn't like getting mail? It is so personal and so exciting! And so much better when its a letter instead of a bill! Love it! So shout out to you U.S. post office! Word.

Until next time,
Muah!

Day 5 & 6

Sorry that I missed a day guys! How PA-rude of me! But I will just catch up on this post! Here we go!
  DAY 5:
Today I am thankful for living close to 3 of my 6 siblings. My brother Brent and his wife Lori live about 10 minutes from me. My other brother Corby & his wife, Katie Lynn, and their baby, Jade, live about 35 minutes from me. And my oldest brother Darrin, his wife, Annie, and daughters, Tommye-Lynn and Brylee, and one on the way, live 3 hours away. I love love love love this. I love that I get to see Corby and Brent and their families at least once a week. I love that when I need a break from my life or am feeling down I can just pop on over and be completely rejuvenated. I love that when Tommye-Lynn has a soccer game I can plan a trip and come up for the weekend, or we can all have Thanksgiving together. I love it. I wouldn't trade these years and how close I am for anything. There honestly isn't anything like family. They are so helpful and caring and I am so grateful and lucky to live so close to all of them.
 Darrin & Annie
 Tommye-Lynn & Brylee
Corby, Katie, Jade, Lori, Brent, & Me
   DAY 6:
Today I am grateful for my mother's cooking skills that have so graciously been passed down to me. Growing up my mom made about everything homemade. Not only did she make it homemade, she made it dang good homemade. She can basically feed an army in a matter of 30 minutes. She always has everything she needs to make what you want on hand, or she knows how to get it really fast. I remember once in high school I had forgotten that I promised my club breakfast after our meeting. I called up my mom and asked her if she could make cinnamon rolls. She showed up 30 minutes later with 2 full pans of cinnamon rolls hot out of the oven that she made from scratch. THAT is the kind of woman my mother is. Luckily enough for me and my future husband and family I have been taught a lot of those same skills. I love to cook, something my mother taught me. I hate cleaning up, but I was also taught that the most important part of cooking is cleaning up. I love having people over for meals and making people happy with food. I think its such a handy skill to have and I am so happy my mom taught me everything I know. Now if I could just get those last few recipes out of her....
Until next time,
Muah!

Day 4

Today I am thankful for music! I seriously would be lost without it. LO and I have music jamming basically all the time. Some of our favorites are J Biebs (who is currently playing right now), T Swift, Selina Gomez, Death Cab for Cutie, and let's be honest Bottoms Up. Music is amazing. It can completely change your mood, explain exactly how you are feeling, and change you. I can't imagine not having music seeing as it is constantly going in my head. Sometimes I wake up at 4 in the morning with a song going through my head. Thank goodness we have artist who can sing, so I don't have to. I love all kinds of music. As long as I can sing to it or hum I am good to go. I love musicals, operas, ballets, symphonies, and concerts. I love ipods, phones, mp3 players, and the radio. I love country, pop, rap, classical, Christmas music (it deserves it's own), and so much more. I love music!

Day 3!

Happy November 3rd! Today I am thankful for store made food or just food that is pre-cooked. Thank goodness I don't have to make a meal from scratch every time I cook. Thank goodness I don't have to kill animals from my farm or pick vegetables from my garden. Thank goodness. I love home cooked meals, especially my mom's, but man is it nice to get a frozen lasagna for later in the week. I am currently on an all protein diet for this week. Unfortunately as the days are diminishing till Christmas, my weight seems to be doing the opposite. Seeing as I lost a lot of weight for Linsey's wedding I DO NOT want this to happen, so I'm back to the grind. Seeing as I hate having to cook whatever meat I am having everyday, I am thankful I can stop by Walmart and get a rotisserie chicken. I'm telling you there was a reason I wasn't born in the olden days. Hope all is well!
Until next time,
Muah!
P.S. I'm also very very very thankful for ice cream. Word.

30 Days of THANKFULNESS

Happy NOVEMBER y'all!!! In spirit of Thanksgiving and then CHRISTMAS I decided to make daily updates on what I am thankful for. These will be short post and in between my regular posts. I have missed Day 1, so today I am going to have 2 thanks. I can't believe how fast this year has gone! Man things just seem to fly by!
Day 1: I'm thankful for BYU
November 1st was celebrated by President Monson coming to BYU to speak at devotional. I don't know about y'all, but I find this to be an amazing opprotunity and experience. I was blown away at the peace and love that filled the room as soon as President Monson entered. I was grateful for his words and the service he gives to the Lord every day. President Monson talked about being an example, something I need to be MUCH better at. Some of my favorite quotes were:
We must remember we are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are are spiritual beings having a human experience. This should remind us where our loyalty and anchor should lie.
When you choose to follow Christ, you choose to be changed.
What does this all have to do with BYU? Well here at BYU we get experiences like this all the time. Every Tuesday we have devotional were we get to hear from leaders of our church, professors, politicians, and esteemed individuals of other religions. In class we have prayer everyday and spiritual thoughts. We get the opportunity to take religion classes that will kick your butt and make you question if they should even allow you in Heaven. There are countless opportunities to serve, learn, and really figure out what you believe and who you are. The cool thing about BYU is that it embodies the idea that religion isn't just what we practice or what we believe, it's who we are. I am so grateful that I go to a university that knows this, and makes it part of our every days. GO COUGS!
Day 2: I'm thankful for Friends (the show and the people)
That's today! Yay! Okay so what to be thankful for today? It's not like I'm not thankful, it's more like okay what do I want to talk about today? So today I am thankful for the people that have come into my life in the last 6 months. I have been super lucky this semester that I have been introduced to some of the coolest people ever. To name a few that would be the Dick family, Lauren, Cory & Ashley, Jonathan & Jeremy, Lindsay and okay I guess I will throw Pickup in there too. Basically these people have come to be some of my favorite people ever. They have made this semester such a blast and I feel super lucky to know them. I'm extremely grateful for friends, old and new. I'm grateful for the lessons they teach us and the happiness they can bring into our lives. I'm thankful that we can be changed by those we meet even if it’s only briefly. So basically if you are my friend then this post is for you. Thank you, because you make my life infinitely better! Love you!
Just a side note to all of you who missed it on facebook, I got my assignment for the ILP program and I will be teaching in MOSCOW, Russia! I am so pumped! Moscow looks beautiful and there is so much to do there! I want to visit everything! I can’t wait to leave! I can’t wait to meet my host family! I can’t wait to live in Russia for 4+ months! I can’t wait to travel, take Russian & cultural classes, lose tons of weight because I won’t eat any of the food, and not even have to worry about dating. Today it is less than 300 days till I leave!! We are in the 200’s people! It is going to be here before I know it! I CAN’T BELIVE I AM GOING TO BE LIVING IN RUSSIA! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!! Freaking out! Anywho, Moscow is going to be a blast! I am going to rock it, and I can’t wait for all of the experiences I am going to have. Now THAT is going to make a good blog!
I hope that this blog finds you happy, well, and healthy. Enjoy your families and your life. It’s November now y’all! That means we all have to be extremely good until Christmas! Best behavior now! 53 DAYS….
Until next time,
Muah!
